With the primary election in full swing, there is an explosion of political information going around. This gives us, the electorate, a strong reminder to be registering to vote. We hear all the time how important it is to vote, but I strongly feel this election will be one of the most influential and important presidential elections we have in awhile.

I believe there are major changes coming to our country. With the millennial and Gen Z populations rising in voting numbers, the US will be changing in mindset and voting styles. With as important an election as this, I strongly encourage you to vote.

The first step in the voting process is finding out whether or not you are registered to vote. This is very easy, there are several websites that can tell you if you are registered to vote. This website will find your voter registration status and let you know right away if you are registered to vote. It will even help you find your local voting dates and information.

If you are not registered to vote, this website will take you to your state's voting website so you can find out how to register. It may be somewhat different state-by-state so make sure you look at your state's voting information to fully understand its process.

Now that you are registered to vote, you need to decide if you will be present on your state's voting day. If you will, great! Just make sure you know what time the polls open and close. If you are in college like I am, you will need to apply for an absentee ballot. This is different by state. You can look on your state's official voting website to find information or you can go directly to your county's clerk.

Getting ready to vote isn't a difficult process. As long as you know the steps, registering to vote isn't that lengthy either. Make sure you stay up to date on your state and county's voting information so you don't lose out on this important opportunity to vote.
